This collection began as a commission for a crescent moon pendant which rapidly expanded into a range of jewellery depicting different lunar phases. Working in enamel and silver, Hannah was excited by the ‘glowing moon’ effect created by the contrast between the bright shiny enamel and the matte black of oxidised silver. Experimenting with different enamels and techniques, Hannah has begun making these designs in different colours inspired by the appearance of the moon in different conditions and at different times year – imitating, for example, the orange hue of the ‘Harvest Moon’ or the blue tint that can be caused by dust particles in the air.
These designs can be found at Llantarnam Grange in Cwmbran, Wales.
